Sean Brodie's Response to BJ's Poems "Broken Heart" and "Love Kills Slowly"

Both of these poems are about love. The first poem, "Broken Heart", the narrator is heart broken by her boyfriend, who she had been taking care of throughout a period of time. He would hang out with his friends, drink alcohol, smoke a joint, won't give her a bit of attention when she tries to get intimate, and when he was down on his luck. She was there to comfort and provide for him. She had also paid his bills and helps him when his car was damaged. It seems that her boyfriend only cares about is himself. After she help him from being nothing into something, he treats her like she hasn't done a thing for him, but she made the best decision to leave him, and move forward in life.

The second poem, "Love Kills Slowly", the narrator in this story is in love with a man named Ryan, who doesn't seem to love her back. She knows what he had done wrong, such as the cheating, the lies, the secrets, and the break ups. The way the guy touches her heart makes her love him uncontrollably. Time after time he leaves her, but she remembers the good times that they had together. She desires something more, a love that is forever. It is almost like she wants to have the perfect relationship or love, which she and the boyfriend will stay committed and nothing wrong happens. Nobody is perfect, yet she wishes it could be, but deep down inside, her feelings for this man are slowly killing her.

These poems are incredibly interesting and really well-written. I feel like I got a better understanding on how the emotions of what a woman goes through with a man. Love is a beautiful thing, but they way how people use it will determine rather it gives a blissful state of unexplainable happiness or painful and sorrow feelings that will hurt over time. I think everything in these poems work well, and a lesson can be learned from it. About being in a relationship, what things a man should do, and the respectful emotions of love between a man and a woman.
